I have a box made of four walls that are all semi-transparent. When I look through the walls, I can see my ground object. However, when my car is on one side of a wall and my camera is on the other, my car disappears. I'm making my walls transparent in the ApplyEffects method by setting effect.Alpha to 0.2f. My car object has effect.Alpha = 1.0f which is the same as my ground. But, I still can't see the car through the walls. Have any of you come across this problem and found a fix for it? As always, your help is greatly appreciated!
Make sure you render the semi-transparent wall AFTER the car. If you left depth buffer writing on while drawing the wall and then try render things behind the wall they won't get drawn because they are rejected by the depth buffer. This doesn't have anything to do with JigLibX though.
And this is why I asked my question on here. You were absolutely correct! I set the DrawOrder for the car to come before the walls and it fixed the problem. Thank you sir for your feedback. It definitely helped.
To go along with that, I'd like to extend my appreciation and respect for all the developers on here. Your assistance is a big plus for those of us who are still learning. Thanks again!
